These drawings are 2-3 years old now, i did them when I was living in Costa Rica for a year inspired by the interesting meals we were having out there. You can see the aubergine, watermelon, corriander, hachiote and chickpeas and limes which I scanned into photoshop, removed the background, created a tile and replicated that across a sheet. if I can get my act together and find somewhere affordable to print them I hope to have some homemade wrapping paper this Christmas.
Last week I painted a Peace Lily.
I framed the painting and we bought an actual Peace Lily and gifted the pair for our friends wedding gift.
I'm really happy with the way it came out and shall be improving my skills next month in a Botanical Watercolour class. #watchthisspace #botanicals #watercolour
Each card is an original hand-painted card. No prints or copies made.
I'm going to get some more photos of these cards soon showing them 'on set'.
They are going to be sold with a square brown envelope and a clear plastic protective wrap and then quickly sent out in the post to you.
I'm thinking of about 3.50 including P&P for UK orders. Sound reasonable enough?
Another fun evening illustrating a few New Year Resolutions!
This is a big one for me. I can be a bit of a worrier. But as one of my favourite Tattly Tattoo's says: 'Warrior not Worrier' is the attitude to have.
It's no use to any one having all your issues bottled up inside of us. We'd become a giant mess. Obviously we also don't want to be moaning and complaining all of the time either. But I find if we share a worry with those closest to us, or write it out to be forgotten in a box or diary, or dramatically thrown on a fire then the worries quite often disappear all together.
Although I did the doodles and the words are my own interpretation... this idea came from Bobette Buster 's book Do Story: How to Tell Your Story so The World Listens, (which you can buy from the Do book co here. )
I love the simplicity of it all and am looking forward to putting my storytelling into practice. I've got lots of great stories, and hopefully using these top ten tips will help them come alive.
Maybe one day I'll meet you in a pub and you can give me some feedback on my story telling technique!
Another little doodle!
I love this little drawing I did.
I think it's a good mantra for going into the new year. Have a curious mind. Have no judgment. Ask questions. Do not presume. One may does not know all the answers to everything all of the time. Be open to new ideas. Let go of what you think you know and a whole new world of learning will make itself apparent to you.
Happy New Year 2016!
