When I was working in Costa Rica at one of the best Surf Coaching Resorts in the world(!) I was the Director of Sales. Naturally this was a job that involved "Laptop Time" daily.
Clearly, the whole design of a laptop is that they're a portable device so I'd be swinging in the hammock at home talking to future guests on Skype, down at the Harmony Juice Bar enjoying an banana, date and nut butter smoothie doing my weekly checks, or in the cool of our luxury staff room writing back to guests.
As one would hope though, there was always an opportunity for surf time.
Here's a clip of me last summer enjoying a small swell at Guiones. Now I'm in a winter suit, boots, gloves and hood at Godrevy. It's not quite the same, but I've never regretted having gone in for a surf.
